Shumba Safaris serves as an adventure of confidence that which is proudly aimed at clientele satisfaction on connecting Africa to explore with our esteemed clients. Our clients are picked up early in the morning from their hotel for a full day wildlife exploration in Nairobi National Park. Another amazing detail about the park is her been the only place in the world that is very close to the capital city where rhino tracking is very possible with guidance of local guides. This tour was specifically designed for enthusiastic travellers who do not have enough time to spent, but needing a well packaged break from office work and without need to travel far land to encounter wildlife.
This is the time that our guests are picked up from their pre-booked hotel and we would drive from the city centre. We will join the morning game drive where the local guide would take us through tracking of endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, brown backed and spotted hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and variety of birdlife species. When you stretch forth your eyes and binoculars during the game drives, you are likely to see the big five excluding elephants right close to the city.
We will then proceed to David Sheldrick Widlife Trust for the elephant feeding program where we will get closer to elephant calves. Daphne Sheldrick as part of the David Sheldrick Conservation Foundation rehabilitates baby elephants and other wildlife to ensure that they are safe and well protected. The visiting hours are strictly 11am to 12 noon every day. For Usd50, Guests can pay directly an amount of USD50 to adopt an orphan elephant, rhino or giraffe or donate as a gift - offering life and hope to an animal in need. Our departure time would be lined up for lunch.
Time- After lunch hour
We then proceed to giraffe centre a sanctuary for the endangered Rothschild Giraffe where you will get to feed, kiss and stroke this tall, graceful animal. This is guaranteed to be an unforgettable up-close encounter with the wild. Our next visit would be Karen Blixen Museum. Dating back to rich history we discover about early 1900's, where a Danish woman called Karen Blixen came to Kenya and settled at the foot of Ngong Hills. Here, she started a coffee farm and was one of the pioneers in farming. In the 1920's, she went bankrupt and had to go back home to Europe. There she became a writer using the pen name 'Isaak Dinesen' she wrote a book called 'Out Of Africa' which was later made into a famous movie starring Robert Redford and Meryl Streep. The house from where the movie was filmed in Kenya is now the Museum. We will end our tour through a stop at Utamaduni for a chance to buy curios from the quality Artisan store which has been ranked as Number one store in Kenya for African Crafts.
